Field Service Engineer

Our client is a multinational leader in the automation sector, and they are urgently looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their team in the Northern Cape (Kathu/ Postmasburg). The successful candidate must have a minimum of 4-years’ experience in a heavy engineering / mining / manufacturing / automation sector.

R 950 000 CTC - R 1.2 mil CTC per annum

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Engineering Diploma / equivalent combination of relevant education.
Qualified Instrumentation trade (Electrician).
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in heavy engineering / mining / manufacturing / automation sector.
Experience involving AC or DC drives & PLC’s.
Knowledge of the following programable devices: Allan Bradley, ABB and Siemens.
High-level understanding of communication protocols such as Modbus, Canbus, Ethernet, etc.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support.
Participate in delivering After-Hours Breakdown Support.
Do complex fault-finding and report findings and deviations (SQL/HMI).
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
PLC programming (Rockwell & Rack).
Calibrate an analog device in the field through the PLC (Scaling).
Maintain tools and test equipment properly.
